                  GCM’s 2011 Christmas Greetings

 Obedience and Dependability

Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judah during the time of King Herod. Astrologers from the East came to Jerusalem and asked “where is the new
born King of the Jews?” “Matt. 2:1 & 2”- v.7 Herod called the Astrologers “Go and make a careful search- report to me, I too may go and worship
him”. They went on their way and the star they saw i¬n the East, reappeared- went ahead of them- it stopped over the place where the Child was.
“On coming to the house, they worshiped Him and presented to Him gifts; gold, incense and myrrh. They were warned in a dream not to go back to
Herod- they returned to their country by another route.”- v.13- an Angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, “Get up” he said “take the Child
and His mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, Herod is going to search for the Child to kill Him.”L.B & G.N.
He got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt- When Herod realized that he was outwitted by the Astrologers, he was
furious- gave orders to Kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity two years old and under.

Dear Loving Friends,

It is 2011 Christmas time! a time to meditate more carefully on Bible Verses that tells about Jesus. Scriptures in here are teaching us Obedience and
Dependability- thru the lives of Mary, Joseph and the Astrologers who faithfully followed the star till they found Jesus. These acknowledged God’s
wonderful plan for salvation and abundant life in Jesus.
Luke 2:21 & 40 “On the 8th day when it was time for Him to be circumcised he was named Jesus, the name the Angel gave before he was conceived
and the Child grew and became strong. He was filled with wisdom and the grace of God was upon Him.”
John 1:15-17 (NLT) John testified about Jesus when he shouted to the crowds “This is the one I was talking about- someone is coming after me who
is far greater than I am.---“  From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another, God’s unfailing love and faithfulness come
thru Jesus Christ.
John 10:10b Jesus said “I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.” These are hard times- GCM- in her 43rd
year of operation: needs are graciously provided- Our awesome God provides. Mission offerings thru DM Stearns Missionary Fund is helping meet
primary needs of our Children in the Home- between New Year to Christmas since 2007, few loving friends come with their surprise gifts: few sacks
of rice, noodles and etc. our hearts overflow with thanks giving!- big help!
2010 Christmas, the Office of Meralco- Electric Company near the Children’s Home invited some of our Children in their Social Hall- served a big
dinner with their silver wares- one little boy was puzzled on how to use the beautiful spoon too big for his tiny mouth, but all went well. Care givers
helped the little ones on how to use their silver wares- office people in Electric Co. fell in love with our children- they promised to give nice play
ground equipments: see-saw, slides, monkey bar, swing- basket ball stand with ring and etc. - colorfully painted- 2 of our dedicated teachers worked
together to buy a brand new drum set, electric guitar and 2 play houses. For the High School students- “get relaxed after a hard play.”
Some TV Hosts and movie stars use to visit the Home- serving good meals, ice cream and chocolates which we could not afford, Real treat!
3 Schools- Teachers receive love gifts- because the Administration could not cope with teacher’s salaries which is now P16, 000.00 monthly=
$372.10- many of our teachers get only $140 monthly. Labour Law demands more however our loving teachers are cooperating with us on this line-
we share whatever blessings come- this makes them feel loved- especially the Elementary Department where most of our Children in the Home attend
Classes- few visiting friends give towards the love gift of our Elem. Teachers. Our 2 High Schools- receive School Subsidy from the Department of
Education- these often come late but our teachers had learned to depend on the Lord- subsidies come in January to May- they are empty from June to
December, in God’s own time. Few loan sharks are taking advantage, but we are learning to avoid them-
Dignity’s piece of land have at a small corner good for rice paddy- Badian teachers requested to plant it with rice- Stephen and Don- sort of
swapped this to GCM’s piece of land- next to them- it is dry and good for buildings- the teachers worked together to care for their rice plant- ---
Amazingly- this rice paddy- gave 258- of un husked rice- 44kilos each sack- Sept.2011 harvest time- they were able to pay the monies borrowed for
seeds, cultivating, planting and etc.- harvest was shared among the Badian teachers, a little to Dignity Staff and 6 sacks of clean rice for the
Orphanage, one sack was Arsenia’s supply with her companions at the School and rice for the planters for the second planting Nov.7/11- if all goes
well- this is to be harvested by Feb. 2012.
The dedication of the Badian teachers in training their 92 chosen students for this Drum Corps continue to serve as the pride of Oas in the Sea side
villages to also be witnesses for Jesus as salt and light- more parents are encouraged to put their children in Grace Christian Mission Technical School-
where we give sound teachings about Salvation in Jesus and leadership. II Tim 2:2 “to also lead others to Christ.”
Small School subsidies are always delayed but Boso-Boso and Badian High School; in God’s own time teachers are enjoying blessings! Poor weathers,
lots of brownouts caused the Computer Machines in Badian to bug down- Oct.3-6- GCM- Head Office visited Badian- with our 2 Computer
Technicians- they were able to restore 2 of the 6 computer that provided the students chance to have hands on.
Last week of September 2011, Mrs. Evelyn Lim Tan, Pres. Of Banner Plastic Card, Inc. with Mr. Pedragosa her right hand man visited GCM- School
and Orphanage- she promised to ask members to adopt GCM- School and Home- help to meet needs- Nov.21 they gave five sets of refurbished
personal computers, 3 printers/copiers, 1 typewriter, 1 computer table, 12 wooden chairs, colored chalk, 2 pieces wooden tables with tabular frame,
Manila paper, and Cartolina.
Also praising God for the Filipino Fellowship and their friends in Tremont Temple Baptist Church, Boston, Ma. and other friends at any time
sending Balik Bayan Boxes- with canned goods, used clothing and School and Office supplies- also a big help in these time of crises.
Our great God promised to provide our needs not our wants. God is using you for the survival of GCM- because you love Jesus. Orphanage  -70
