Dear loving Friends,
Greetings with the love of Jesus that is always kind and tender, long suffering especially in the midst of terrible Calamities.
The Philippines is storm torn and flooded- from the furthest Island on the North to Visayan Islands and few provinces in
Mindanao Island- even after one week many places are still under water.
The worst was Ondoy- no gusty winds but heavy down pour of rain Sept. 25- all night and 26th all day terrible floods in
Metro Manila and on to 26 provinces- many went to their roof tops for temporary refuge-helicopters rescued them to a safer
place- evacuation centers, those with one story houses ran fast with babies in their arms- for their lives- many died, many
houses and cars were wrecked and carried by swift waters. All people on safer ground were challenged to help: food,
bottled purified water, clothes, medicine- money by the Millions to Red Cross and to the Department of Social Work- they
worked around the clock with very little rest even risking their lives. No passenger vehicle could ford the flooded high ways.
Those stranded in Schools and work- spent the night where they were on Sept.26- and the 27th with courage- a string of
people waded waist deep high ways- taking careful watch on deep drainage; on streets 5 to 7 miles to be with their families-
some lost their families in the midst of raging rivers- there were looters that took advantage of the situation, but police men
and soldiers were alerted.
GCM- Family praise God for His Mercy and Grace. There were some parts of Caloocan City that were also flooded but
Bagong Barrio where we are was not reached by flood and no power failure- it was a blessing we were getting an excellent
coverage on what was happening. Rubber boats were requested and portable toilets, Professional nurses and doctors, nursing students and
medical students helped in sanitation and treatment of the sick- those having sore feet- too much water and mud. Yes, the love of God prevailed in
times like this. Our group prayed- we opened our City office and accommodated a big family shared our food and the love of Jesus- GCM- in Boso-
Boso the Orphanage, all staff members are fine. We are struggling to make both ends meet- thank you Lord- we are still enjoying 3 simple meals
daily- The School compound and its people are fine- a Book Company lovingly gave 300lbs of rice which they divided among themselves (teachers
and students). One of our teachers lost her house carried by the flooded river, but her family is safe- one of our high school teachers renting a
house in the City got everything wet by flood water. Please pray with us for food supply. Many farms were destroyed. M/M. Anno- Elem teacher-
young couple- lost everything in the flood.
GCM- Family in Badian called Oct.8/09 they had the typhoon but did not experience bad typhoon as Metro Manila people did. Schools closed for
one week.
Prayer Request:
1. Money to buy a generator that will run our water filling station in times of bad weather- whenever we suffer from power failure. $125,000.00
2. Food supply- Prov. 30: 7, 8 & 9 especially for the children in the Home.
3. Health- free from sickness- that the Mission Work will be kept going, reaching more souls for Jesus.
4. Our Livelihood Projects- improve food production- clear fruit trees covered with landslides.
5. Health for our pigs, goats and ducks- that in spite of everything these can help meet our food supplies.
6. Hand tractor $2, 200.00 Factory Price- to help us till our garden- for vegetables and etc.
Super typhoon Pepeng coming behind Ondoy 200 km/hr center winds though still struggling to survive we all prepared, by God’s grace and mercy it
change course- went on north unroofed many houses and devastated more farm lands- with much prayers we hoped it will exit Oct. 8, but this
returned no more strong winds but more rain, more floods and more land slides, people in their houses were covered with mud killing 200+ more
drowning total deaths 600+ and Agricultural products 1.5 billion- pray that we will not starve Psa.118:9 “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put
confidence in princes. Please pray with us James 5:16, Phil. 4:19.
God bless you!
With love and Prayers,
Arsenia & GCM- Family

Paul said: By everything I did I showed you should work to help everyone who is weak. Remember that our Lord said
"more blessings come from giving than from receiving".
