March 2007 NEWSLETTER

                                 Dear Friends

How are you?  Twenty 0-seven is marching fast!  To Where?  To the next – exit, 2008! So let’s
hurry the Lord’s return is drawing nigh – Acts 1:11, Rev. 22:12 The terrible 2006 typhoons in the
Philippines are over.  To you at snow country you are watching your piles of snow melt away.  The
very cold below freezing weather that burned lots of your fuel is giving way to Flowery spring!
Time to flip-flop our wings, work then like honey bees – produce more honey to sweeten life in our
                                bitter world.

Filipinos saddened by the big devastations in farms and houses are picking up JOY in place of
                                gloom:

                                (A)  Few Boso-Boso PTA officers stayed on Christmas vacation to finish the beautification            of
the school compound – Project of the High School and Elementary PTA with the Alumni Organization: long concrete
bench in front of the school buildings along the play ground and decorated concrete ring like huge basket for each tree
along the path entering the compound – they are colorful and nice – but unfinished this made it look ugly.  Mr. Ramon
Yap – GCM Board Member saw this and he gave the full amount to get it finished – 20 rings one for each tree standing
straight like sentinels.

(B)  GCM Administration with her very limited fund bravely started the construction of the elementary school house.  The
renovated building of the High School Department – have two classrooms not yet fixed but they re being used though
leaking by the 350 children needs are 15 classrooms. 7-classrooms were renovated and the started Elementary building
have 6 but only 3 were enclosed with concrete walls – no roof yet – 3-classrooms just have their foundation laid – the
value of the dollar went down and the prices of everything including construction materials went up.  The cost of finishing
one classroom is $4,000.  Can you organize a group that will help you raise that amount. Five groups can do wonderful
things for Jesus! To the Elementary building finished.

(C)  Basketball Court: Robert and Lydia Bañaga of Hercules, California, my nephew and his wife, pledged the money for
the playground.  They don’t have much, but it was given by installment: for the 200 bags of cement several iron rods, 6
truck loads of gravel and sand, High School and Elementary PTA – about 200 hard working men with tools-joined hands
on  March 15, 16 & 17/07 – and cemented.  Water pump donated by George & Louise Kilnapp of Fort Square
Presbyterian Church – Quincy, Mas. Draw water from the village irrigation system.  The small cement mixer lent to us by
Mr. Fortunato Santos, gave excitement to the working group – that this be finished in 3 days and yes it was finished – now
we have nice basketball court, we’ll use it for the Commencement Exercises – March 30/07

(D1)  Missional Business.  Wise King Solomon said – Ecc. 10:19 – “a feast is made for laughter and wine makes life merry
but money is the answer for everything” It is our prayer to raise money – for our different Mission Projects – let’s pray for
the Missional business – GCM-IT (Grace Christian Mission-International Teams) – is in the process of getting it registered
with the Securities and Exchange Commission and concentrate our efforts on Coconut Products – the known tree of life!

(D2)  Badian Family – had kept the love of Jesus burning in their hearts, trusted God’s comfort on their trying days – no
electricity for almost 3 months – contented themselves with the ancient kerosene lamp and some used cooking oil – no
computer classes – the electric machines – rented, but on Feb. 26/07 their electric lines were restored – all were in great
Jubilee!  High hopes on coconut trees to bear again – the twisted palm leaves are replaced by healthy leaves gracefully
waving in the sky.  Badian with our coconut trees hopefully can be the place to develop our Projects on coconut products!
Psa. 46:10 – “Be still and know that I am God:  I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth (Psa. 84:
11) For the Lord God is sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor, no good thing does he withhold from those
whose walk is blameless (NIV)
.
(E)          Rejoicing on seemingly small things – but to us great and amazing supply!

1.        Door to door big boxes with gifts as token of love:  quilts from Beverly Lane of Illinois – she gave each child a quilt
which they got and treasured as their own – those released from our care brought them home and more quilts from North
Shore Presbyterian Church Ladies group.
2.        Personal visits to the Home and city office – touch of loving fellowship in the Lord – Don Byker and Steve Freed
with Sandi his wife of U.S. they are members of the GCM-IT – maybe we can have more time to work together.
3.        Jun and Joyce Guico of Australia, this couple and their group in Australia had been sending many nice things for
the children Door-to-Door, but on March 3/07 they visited their relative in the Philippines – made the effort – visited the
children – enjoyed giving each child chocolates, candies and cookies and many other nice things and toys – when they
left Joyce handed me an envelop with cash – washing machines are quickly worn out due to piles and piles of laundry
everyday hence we did not have washing machine for awhile – her gift allowed the ladies; in the Home to buy two small
washing machines and one dryer – Jun also handed his envelop – 200 Australian dollar my first time to see Australian
money and some Ph-cash – a very timely gift – lately our men have to push our jeep to get it started for the run – I
learned our battery was already used up no more power to start the engine and one tire was flat beyond repair!  As soon
as I gave the money to our Director Eleazar Maravilla with the hope to get our Van fixed he said the battery for the jeep
and tire are more important – the van can wait, but the jeep is always on the “Go” for use.
(F)        Your monthly giving thru DM Stearns Missionary Fund – a big help.  Our prayer is always Lord give us our Daily
Bread!  Our food budget each week used to be ten thousand pesos – this increased to P17,000. for the same number of
people eating – tuition fee also for our Elementary children – Please pray that daily needs will always be met!

Gratefully yours,

Arsenia D. Bañaga
