GCM's 2007 CHRISTMAS MESSAGE To share For Nothing is Impossible with God Luke 1:37
|
This is a wonderful message to meditate upon-this Christmas Season. Fight for survival is
getting more tough each day in the Mission work-we are tempted to complain. Luke 1
mentioned two cases of “Impossibles”. The angel said to Mary you will be with Child and give
birth to a Son 1:30- Mary asked-How will this be since I am a Virgin 1:34 Angel-The Holy Spirit
will come upon you and the power of the Most High will over shadow you, the Holy One to be
born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative who barren and in her old
age will have a child, now in her sixth month “For nothing is impossible with God” Lk. 1:37
Right attitude on impossibles: Mary-“I am the Lord’s Servant, may it be to me as you have
said“. Job 13:14 in the midst of his suffering “Though He slay me yet will I hope in Him”. Job
23:10 He knows the way that I take when He has tested me I will come forth as gold. Job
42: 10 – “after Job had prayed for his friends the Lord made him prosperous again and gave
him twice as much as he had before.”
These are encouraging messages – move on in spite of anything that comes to bog us down.
Timely cheers and comforts! March 3/07 Mr. and Mrs. Jun and Joyce Guico of Australia
“donors” – Visited their relatives in the Philippines and also visited GCM-Home. They handed
chocolates candies, cookies and toys to each child. Children feasted in one serving from the hands of generous
givers. They were thrilled touching tiny hands reaching for their share – listening to softly spoken “thank yous” a box
of beautiful Christmas decorations! These made the children’s rooms well decorated – this time. They also gave silver
wares, etc. The eyes of m/m Guico gleamed with Joy - their prayer to visit and talk with the children was realized.
Joyce gave an envelop – money – This enable us to buy 2 washing machines – that replaced the worn out machines
and a dryer for rainy season – Jun’s envelop – enabled us to buy battery for our Jeep making the hard task – pushing
our Jeep to get it started for the run and tire that replaced the flat tire that was beyond repair – our director Eleazar
and the driver were filled with smiles so grateful for the help!
Roberto’s friend from Gordon-Conwell – David (Chanyoung Kim) and Uni Kim’s church (New Light Korean Church
Children’s Ministry under Rev.Dae Up Kim ) in Massachusetts sent money which enable us to buy medicine for the
children (children who are under medication for 3 to 6 months because of the weak lungs), 13 sacks of rice and
added the remaining for the weekly food budget.
March 15-17/07 a big work together- Parents, Teachers, students, friends and some alumni about 200 of us worked
together – cementing our basketball court – a prayer for 20 years – now realized - Robert Bañaga my nephew and his
wife Lydia graciously financed the cementing of the High School Basket ball court- they visited us twice and had seen
the great need- when ever it rains- it becomes muddy and when dry and sunny- clouds of dust! Our kind neighbor Mr.
Santos lent to us his small cement mixer – now many are enjoying the cemented basketball court – high schoolers fall
in line for the daily flag ceremony and venue of GCM – programs – also the place where our Elementary children play.
June 4/07 – our Elementary children started using the barely finished 3 classrooms, the top walls to the roof and no
window and door shutters – children in rooms I and III get wet whenever it rains with strong winds. Solution –
Elementary PTA made improvised door and window shutters made of bamboo. Filipino Friends at Tremont Temple
Baptist Church, Boston had special offering, the top walls of two classrooms were covered, bought chairs and one
unit of computer – the Elementary building is still far from finished – praying for the three more class rooms to be
walled and roofed – but the 3 that are occupied by the children are dry and safe from stealers.
Mrs. Rekha Shah – a US Peace Corps volunteer – she came to GCM in early November ’07 – answered our request
for help. Shortly after her arrival in the Home, Boso-Boso she visited Arsenia at Kalookan City Office. We are enjoying
her helps and fellowship in many ways.
Huge cooking pan – diameter 23 inches, 7 inches deep – 7 lbs of Filipino Noodles “pansit” for the 70 children plus
each a piece of sausage with rice for supper. Nov. 4/07 – shared some to the city staff in their small plastic bags. Mrs.
Ligaya Pen with her sister Imelda and husband Michael found joy in sending some money to give special treat to the
children once in a while! They are old friends who migrated to California.
Weekly food budget for the 70 children - $ 460.60 – The value of the U.S. dollar went down $ 1=55 in 2006 = now $
1=41.85 – but this is still good enough – it is hard struggle to make both ends meet every month – in spite of it all –
needs are being met –
Our greatest JOY for this Christmas Season is over coming the impossibles Jn. 14: 12 “I tell you the truth anyone who
has faith in me will do what I (Jesus) have been doing He will also do even greater things than these because I am
going to the Father.
JOY to the world! Two Miracle babies were born that time – John the Baptist Son of Elizabeth prepared the way for
Jesus’ great ministry – gave His life a Ransom for all who believe in Him “nothing is impossible!”
For God so Love the world – He gave His only begotten Son so that all who believes in Him will not perish, but have
everlasting life.
Gratefully yours for GCM Family
