NOVEMBER 1/08 NEWSLETTER
Dear Loving Friend,
Greetings with the love of Jesus whom we all love and serve! Time flies. TV hosts keep
flashing their count down to Christmas- surely it is coming soon! Many things happened
between our Aug.1/08 Thank you letter to the present. God allowed these to happen-
Mountain top JOY’s and down the Valley pains- drawing us closer to Himself. Precious
messages worth sharing: Job 2:9 & 10- “Then said his wife unto him. Dost thou still retain
thine integrity? Curse God and die. But He said… what? Shall we receive good at the hand
of God and shall we not receive evil? 23:10 But He Knoweth the way that I take, when He
hath tried me I shall come forth as gold.” I Pet.1:7 “That the trial of your faith, being much
more precious than of pure gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire might be unto
praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.” II Cor.1:3&4 “Blessed be God
even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of all Mercies and the God of Comfort,
who comfortheth us in all our tribulation that we maybe able to comfort them which are in
any trouble, by the comfort where with we ourselves are comforted of God.”
Elementary Department: School Year (S.Y) 2007-08- hard work with much prayers to have
the needed permit to operate legally the complete Elementary Department, Kindergarten to
grade VI. The application for Permit was approved- JOY’s of course! But when our doors opened to welcome
pupils S.Y 2008-09 two classes had two share one classroom- one morning and one afternoon sessions
temporarily.
Heart broken but comforted- Mr. Richard Johnston of Meadville, Pennsylvania told us that Sarah his beloved wife
passed away. My precious friend for 41 years 1967 to the present- had helped GCM in many ways also had
supported 4 Orphans one after the other in 40 years with this sad news Richard sent to us the memorial offering
for Sarah. We know she is now with Jesus- our tears were replaced with smiles- the offering was answer to our
prayers for the very much needed classroom. In the midst of heavy schedules Eleazar with his workmen- Aug.
28/08 roofed one classroom- grade V pupils quickly moved in “JOY’s!”
Greatly Honored- Aug.30/08 The new U.S Peace Corps Director Mr. Ronald A. Tschetter with his wife Nancy and
entourage visited the Philippines, the following day, they left for China’s Peace Corps Volunteer. They came to
GCM with U.S Embassy escort to see how their volunteer Rekha Shah, GCM- Home and GCMTS- Schools their
recipients: how they are doing in the work as a whole Mr. Tschetter and Mr. David Miller his Confidential
Assistant- Commented. 1. GCM is well managed, and that our children are well behaved. In my brief story at the
Program. I told the audience- “Our aim is to provide the primary needs of each child, plus our desire with much
prayers is to lead each one to Jesus Christ the Savior of all who believe and train them to make Jesus their best
friend. Mr Tschetter is a Baptist and Mr. Miller is a Presbyterian, hence I believe they understood who GCM is and
her Children.
Seven Febias College of Bible students- came in, while Mr. Tschetter and his entourage were living GCM-Boso-
Boso. These students were on their Mission exposure and were in search for five needy Mission works on which
the students and professors will chose one to receive their 2008 Christmas for Christ gift Project. In their special
Chapel hour the five Candidates were presented- Grace Christian Mission Technical School, Elementary
Department was chosen! Another answer to prayers- We desperately need to finish the two unfinished
Classrooms of the Elementary Building to ease the congestion at the high School building: this will provide a better
classroom atmosphere for both High School and Elementary students. It will be great when grades I to VI will all be
having their classes in their own building with six Classrooms.
Gordon College in Massachusetts, U.S.A also have Mission Exposure for their students- June 13 to July 20/08,
Joshua Broughten and Joanna Rivera helped a lot in the Home as well as in GCMTS schools. They brought home
with them their Vision for Missions. Joanna’s Mother and her friend helped GCM- financially with this, we were able
to develop the Mountain Spring needed source of water for GCM-IT- Missional Business: for the farm and the
factory.
Prayer Request:
1. That GCM-Home/Orphanage and School in Badian will soon be back to normal operation. Jennie our
Project Administrator and Elna our Social Worker both had breast surgery- biopsy of Jennie showed she has
breast Cancer stage II- to save her from impending danger, her left breast was quickly removed- and going
through 6 chemo therapies every 21 days, three were done, 3 more to go- that financial needs for the 3 more, be
met- November 08 to January 09, that all will go well with her. Elna is OK. Back to work but heavy with office paper
work- Rosie Grace our most experienced Care giver and Nurse of the home- had surgery- both of her ovaries
with cyst were removed, Oct.13/08- she is recovering and waiting for the result of her biopsy, lets pray that no
complication will come up. Mr. Manallo- our Key person on the School of Fisheries- Vocational School of GCM-
Badian is a diabetic patient- left leg below his knee was Amputated- Sept.6/08- that he can have his artificial leg
soon and be with the good spirit from God not depressed to be- back to work soon, he is the husband of Shirley
Manallo: GCM’s/Asst. Principal and Vice President of GCM-IT she is of course helping her sick husband hence
work there was hampered.
2. GCM-IT- Missional Business Ware House- $400 to finish the room where we could work, make Virgin
Coconut Oil and other Coconut products- we have to work with the hope to alleviate GCM’s perennial economic
Crises that the Spring we had developed will always have abundant water to make our little farm productive:
coconut trees, bananas, yum, beans, jathropha and etc. plus another $400 to build a tower for the five hundred
gallon water tank. To have a billboard with this message “Safe mountain Spring water for drinking Symbol of Jesus
the source of Living water” “He who drinks this water will thirst again, but the water I give will be in him a well of
water Springing up into everlasting Life.” Jn. 4:14
3. Wisdom and good health!! Shirley for Badian, Eleazar on food production and all teachers and
children.
Thank you very much, God bless you!
With much love and Prayers for you,
Arsenia and GCM-Family

Paul said: By everything I did I showed you should work to help everyone who is weak. Remember that our Lord said
"more blessings come from giving than from receiving".
